Week 12

So now left the last assessments to go and I'm gonna get it done and prepare for the presentation for 23 november.

After done some research over the workshop that we had observe, I found out that the workshop is still complying much rules and regulation compare to Malaysia. However, the workshop that we had observe is still lack in tidyness and cleanliness. The profession of the supervisor and service advisor maintaining at an impressive state where the customer has a clear vision on what had happen on their vehicle after a thorough explain from either the service advisor or the supervisor. Technician in the workshop mostly is cover in dirty clothing and dirty hands which will makese the customer feels uncomfortable when their vehicle is being repair and maintenance by the technician.

Although I can't get enough information on the financial of the workshop as it is private and confidential to them... Well anyhow at least I get some information on how the waste oil is really going through roughly...the workshop does not do any advertisement on any media but they had a lot of customers mainly because they had good quality of service but not with the cost of labour and prices on the spare parts as my friend had sends his vehicle to the workshop before with satisfaction on the service but with higher cost on the parts and labour...

overall to what I've seen the workshop is going to maintain a long operational state and it's going to do well in the next few years...Although the place is untidy and not clean, but with lots of customers coming in... i feel that if they improve their tidyness and cleanliness will attract even more customer to the workshop...

Week 11

So for this week although the schedule I had is tight, however at least I've started to do some research on the workshop chart flow of the spare parts, oil management, etc. With the flow research, i realise that sometimes it's not that easy to just dispose of the waste oil.


As back in my country, disposal of oil in a workshop is kinda convenience as the industry in recycling the waste oil is very efficiency and the organisation or company that collects the waste oil has a huge profit by recycling the waste oil. Therefore, there are tons of people picking up this industry sector as their business and they do earn a lot for the use and waste oil they have collected.

However, in NZ it seems that the waste oil activities are not as active as back in my country although there are also organization, private sector company and government sector company to collect the waste oil for recycle. I'm not too sure if there are really profit made from just collecting the use oil or use parts for recycle in NZ and that's what my next target will be.... researching and researching... lot of research need to be made from it....

But sometimes doing research are on some stuff are really intriguing which will get a lot of solves for the problems and question where it will also brings knowledge and understanding to a certain subject.

Week 10

Finally~~~ a 2 weeks holiday now back to work.. early morning had to wake up which makes me had some difficulties to get out from the bed and move my ass to the uni.. haha...

Today had a meeting with the lecturer one on one after class and discuss with the report and observation that we had done before the midterm break start... Well it seems that our observation report turn out to be just fine and nice.. but anything will have a flaw.... too bad we miss out the referencing....

Lecturer was really nice as i dunno how he knows that back in where i from... we never did any referencing before.... not even once for my whole life... So this would be the first time i'm going to do the referencing onto the next assessment....

I could did it imperfectly for the referencing but still I will still try to do and get it done and right so that i would get higher marks for the next assessment.... Now starting to research on the referencing method that being imply by the Unitec which is the APA referencing....

Week 9

Today send the report and also the proposal altogether to lecturer and awaiting for the reply on our report.. hopefully it will at least be accepted by the lecturer....

Before we sent the email to the lecturer, me and my group mate make some final check on the report and also the proposal... i'm not sure if we really make it in a good way or a correct way..but anyway we hope that we get some positive feedback on the report and also the proposal....

Today after reach class.. saw on the board that our panel discussion is going to defer to friday... so friday had to wake up early again.. haha it's been a while since i last wake at 9am.. well.. all the classes i had now is like 10.30am start...

Friday going to have 2 big alarm to wake me up.. haha hopefully the panel discussion will be a smooth discussion and at least we can get the marks and 10% of it,,, haha

Week 8

Today me and my groupmate decided to go to the workshop that we had choose to observe... upon arrive at the workshop, we greet the service adviser which also the Service Adviser there and also have some conversation with the boss of the workshop.....

After making some questioning about the workshop and also the work flow of the workshop, we get the permission to capture some picture around the workshop...

The workshop is kinda small and it's a bit not that standard workshop which follows all the rules and regulation of a real standard workshop.... It's consider as a road side workshop and a rather small workshop....

Although they are quite busy and doesn't manage to answer all the question that we going to ask...but at least we get some information and observation which we could start off with our report on observation around the workshop...

It seems that there are kinda a lot of things that does not really comply to the rules and regulation that i've known... well it can consider as this time the visit was successful as we were able to observe a lot of things... I think we would have a long report to write... probably... haha

Week 7

Today me and groupmate sit down together and start to write off the proposal as from the last week we agree to come up with ideas on what to observe and what to do in observing a workshop that we had chosen. Using the templates/format that we had found earlier week before, we start off in writing the proposal... 

From the discussion i feel that although it's just a simple proposal, but within the discussion at least we get to exchange our ideas on what to observe and what we had to write in our report further on.... Last week i try to write off the proposal my own but it seems that it's still having some flaw in the proposal and i too get stuck in writing a good proposal out of one brain.... 

When we both discuss and came up with the proposal we done it in like 30min or so... i still remember last time for me to get a proposal done i need more than 30min or an hour or so to get stuck at the end... puff* really a slow making machine brain i have....

So next week on we going to start to observe the workshop and get our report done....

Week 6

Until today me and my groupmate still struggling on how to get our proposal done and sent to our lecturer... i know it does take a long long time and we still haven had a progress or anything to came up with.. but we just have to continue to come up with ideas and what we should be discussion and observing on the workshop that we had already pick to observe...Question pop up on my mind when thinking all stuff of things...

Is it we have to get permission from the workshop that we choose before we proceed with the proposal? or we had to get our proposal done and then we just have to proceed to the woekshop to get the permission? I think i really had to start to work things out de lea...

At least get some idea on what really need to be observe such as...
THe flow of the traffic in the workshop, the way the customer being approach, the mechanic bay working area, the waste oil disposal area, the place that locate the spare part and storage area, etc....
